š« The Hustle Started Early
Paul was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the U.S., where he quickly developed an entrepreneurial mindset. As a kid, he was already running a weekly raffle at school to make money. (Future CEO energy, right? š¼š„)
He later put himself through USCās Marshall School of Business & Viterbi School of Engineering, proving early on that he had the drive to succeed.

āļø The āAhaā (or More Like āOuchā) Moment
Fast forward a few years. Paul was manscaping, as one does, and accidentally nicked himself in a rather sensitive area.
Painful? Yes.
Business idea? Also yes.
He realized there werenāt great grooming solutions for men that focused on safety and precision. So, in 2016, he launched Manscaped. š

š The Marketing Pivot That Changed Everything
Like most startups, Manscaped struggled in its early days. The first batch of products barely sold. But then Paul and his team cracked the codeāthey went all-in on humor.
Instead of boring product ads, they created hilarious, edgy, and engaging marketing. And BOOMāsales skyrocketed.
ā
2017: $1.5M in revenue
ā
2018: Landed on Shark Tank (though the deal fell through, the exposure was priceless)
ā
2020: $65M in revenue
ā
2021: $297M in a single year
š° The Billion-Dollar Near Miss
By 2021, Manscaped was growing so fast that they planned to go public via a $1B SPAC deal. But in 2022, they pulled the plug.
Why? Maybe they liked staying private. (Get it? š)
š Where Manscaped Stands Today
By 2023, the companyās revenue was estimated at $500M. Thatās a LOT of dudes taking their grooming very seriously.
š„ The Takeaway? Accidents = Opportunities
